Parkville Netball Advisory Group 

We are excited to announce the opening of applications for the newly established Youth Advisory Committee and Advisory Group of the Parkville Netball Competition.  We invite your club members, including parents, officials, coaches, umpires, and other stakeholders, to apply for this rewarding opportunity. 

​

These Advisory Groups are entrusted with representing the perspectives, values, and insights of its members. It serves as a platform for individuals to voice concerns and contribute to discussions regarding issues affecting our sport and, specifically, the Parkville Competition.

​

Established by the Parkville Netball Competition, this committee aims to achieve the following:

  • Empowerment - Providing a forum for members to express views, values, and ideas, enabling them to actively shape the future of netball at Parkville Netball.

  • Partnerships - Fostering collaborative relationships that contribute to the strategic goals of the competition. Members are integral partners in the development and implementation of actions and policies.

  • Inclusiveness - Cultivating a culture of mutual respect and collaboration at Parkville Netball and across the wider netball community, where diverse contributions are valued.

  • Enrichment - Harnessing the experiences, thoughts, and perspectives of Parkville Netball members to enhance decision-making processes and outcomes.

 

The primary objectives of the Advisory Groups within the Parkville Netball Competition include:

  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the competition by collaboratively designing, advocating for, and promoting initiatives that benefit participants.

  • Participating in the planning and decision-making processes related to the competition.

  • Providing diverse perspectives and serving as an advisory body to the Parkville Netball Competition team, offering insights on policy reviews and projects.

  • Enhancing club member retention, growth and strength of the Parkville Netball Competitions

  • Actively engaging in the promotion and advocacy of Safeguarding Children, aligning with Netball Victoria and Netball Australia's requirements.

 

Youth Advisory Committee Composition:

We are looking for 6-10 members, aged between 15 and 24 from clubs, who represent a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise.  This group prioritises diversity, emphasizing inclusivity across professions, gender, cultural, disability, Indigenous, and LGBTQI+ spectrums.

  • Diversity: Representation from diverse backgrounds, including different age groups, genders, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, and sexual orientations.

  • Stakeholder: Representation of stakeholders who have a vested interest in the success of the Parkville Netball competitions, including athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators, and community leaders. 

 

Advisory Group Composition:

We are looking for 6-10 members, aged 25 and above from clubs, who represent a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise.  This group prioritises diversity, emphasizing inclusivity across professions, gender, cultural, disability, Indigenous, and LGBTQI+ spectrums.

  • Diversity: Representation from diverse backgrounds, including different age groups, genders, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, and sexual orientations.

  • Expertise: Representation of a range of expertise, such as sports management, coaching, umpiring, marketing, finance, legal affairs, and community engagement.

  • Stakeholder: Representation of stakeholders who have a vested interest in the success of the Parkville Netball competitions, including athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, sponsors, administrators, and community leaders. 

 

Commitment to the Parkville Netball Competition as part of the Advisory Groups:

  • A 12-month term with the possibility of extension.

  • Regular bimonthly meetings (excluding December and January), offering in-person or online attendance options. 

  • Mandatory participation in a full-day induction session

 

How to Apply:

Applications are currently open and will remain so indefinitely, but may close without notice. 

​

Applications are open to club members, officials, coaches and umpires from clubs playing at Parkville Netball Competitions.
